Kraven the Hunter has been shown in the Spider-Man 2 game, and fans are excitedly thinking back to his best Marvel Comics tales.
With the announcement of Spider-Man 2, players now know what to expect from the next game in the Spider-Verse. Fans were excited about the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse with the PS4 Peter Parker, but they are still much more interested in the release of the Spider-Man 2 game.
It has been revealed that the Venom symbiote will take over Peter Parker in some ways in this game. Black-Suit Spider-Man was shown, as well as other important parts of the future game.Kraven the Hunter is one of the main bad guys in Spider-Man 2, and he has been in a lot of great Spider-Man stories in Marvel Comics.
The Ultimate Universe Kraven
In the 2000s, Marvel Comics started the Ultimate Universe as a way to tell many of their heroes’ and enemies’ stories in a more modern way. In the Ultimate Universe, Kraven became a big game shooter on reality TV. He wanted to catch Spider-Man as a trophy more to get more viewers than for any other reason.
Kraven was just a man, though, so he wasn’t as ready for the masked hero as his rival on Earth-616 usually was. He was defeated right away by Ultimate Spider-Man, which made him feel bad, so he set out to get even. He tried different ways to get skills so he could get back at Peter Parker for making him look bad. This version of Kraven was sometimes funny, and it was interesting to see how characters change in other worlds.
Kraven’s First Hunt
In 1964, Kraven the shooter made his first appearance in Marvel Comics. He was a Russian big-game shooter at the time. In The Amazing Spider-Man #15, the character’s half-brother joined him as The Chameleon to help Sergei Kravinoff kill Spider-Man. Whom he called the most dangerous game he could play and his biggest task.
Through a number of traps and tricks set by the two bad guys. Peter Parker almost died before his time in this issue. Kraven wasn’t able to stop Spider-Man, but he did make an effect, and Kraven the Hunter, who only appeared in one issue, became one of the most famous and long-lasting bad guys in the history of Spider-Man comics.
Kraven’s Redemption ft. Squirrel Girl
A different Marvel hero, Squirrel Girl, is in a story about Kraven the Hunter doing some not-so-bad things that are confusing and funny. Even though Squirrel Girl is more of a comedic hero than a big Marvel Comics character, she has done some great things in her own comics, like beating Thanos, but no one ever said that everything in comics makes sense.
She started to change Kraven’s life by getting him to stand trial for the crimes he had done in the past and to start hunting other hunters. In this way, he could make up for what he had done in the past. In comics, it’s rare to see a true redemption story, and Kraven’s was very interesting to follow. It was an unusually fun turn for such a bad guy.
The Grim Hunt
Even though it wasn’t a Kraven the Hunter story arc, The Grim Hunt was all about how Kraven’s death at the hands of Spider-Man changed things in the long run. In “The Grim Hunt,” the widow of Kraven got her children to help her take Spider-Man and many of his friends and allies.
This plot was scary because it was about what happened after one of Spider-Man’s biggest foes actually died. It can be scary when a hero’s enemies plan things from behind the scenes to try to control and slowly destroy the world of the hero. This is what Spider-Man had to deal with in this story arc.
Hunted
Kraven has rarely found the need to work directly with other bad guys. Instead, he prefers to have other hunters help him as his minions. In a strange turn of events, though, he got the High Evolutionary to clone him and then trapped a number of animal-themed heroes and baddies in Central Park so he could hunt them one by one.
As usual, this hunt was mostly about Spider-Man, who had to try to save the people Kraven had taken prisoners. Spidey also had to figure out how to get rid of the force field that was keeping everyone in the park without killing Kraven, which the Hunter said was the only way to get everyone out. Hunted was one of the best stories that showed how Kraven used the hunting gimmick in a unique way.
Kraven’s Last Hunt
The Last Hunt was the story where Kraven actually died. It was also the scene for his most evil plan up to that point. Kraven took over as Spider-Man while Peter Parker was buried alive. He did this by giving Spidey a drug that would put Peter Parker to sleep for weeks. Peter had to go back to being Spider-Man while Kraven was still pretending to be Spider-Man. He was able to break free of Kraven’s hold on him in a brutal way.
This story in Drift Boss was a hit, and many people liked it for its violence and themes. It also had high stakes, since Peter had to try to get back to his life after being buried. And Spider-Man had to deal with the effects of Kraven’s death on his own.
Spider-Man 2 is set to come out in 2023, but there is no official date set yet.
