With these Minecraft mods, you can add more to your collection.
In Minecraft, inventory is a big deal. It’s hard to stay organised because there’s never enough space. You always want to get one last thing before going home. Or, even worse, you forgot something important at home, which is way across the map. Problems keep coming up.
But there are clever ways to solve every problem. Inventory has been a task that modders have been happy to take on over the years. The results range from simple and useful to silly, but somehow it still works. These are some of the best mods for the inventory and bag in Minecraft.
Inventory Hud+ By Dmitrylovin
Sometimes you just want to see what’s in your collection without stopping to look at it. Do you need more pebbles or do you already have enough? Before you left, did you think to put dirt in your inventory? Where is your sword? Dmirtylovin’s Inventory Hud+ puts all the answers you need right in front of you.
This mod adds a customizable spot above the hotbar where your whole inventory, armour stats, and special effects (like potions) are shown. Don’t stop to look again. Keep running and just look to see what you need to know.
Storage Drawers By Texelsaur
Keeping your home’s inventory can be just as hard as keeping track of your own. Vanilla Chests are great, but they have a limited amount of room and a limited number of stacks, and not all items can fit. For example, each bucket of water takes up one space in a box.
The Storage Drawers mod by Texelsaur gives you three different options: a box that holds one item, a box that holds two different items, and a box that holds four Drive Mad items. All things can fit in a drawer. Each box can only hold a certain number of items, but you can buy upgrades to make more room.
Iron Chests By ProgWML6 and Alexbegt
Why aren’t metal boxes possible? Most people have thought about this at some point or another. The answer is in IronChests by ProgWML6 and Alexbegt: yes, you can.
Use iron, gold, diamonds, and obsidian to make boxes. They can’t be put together with another chest like wood chests can, but they have more room on their own, 10 Lines On My Favourite Sport Football and each chest upgrade gives you more space, with Netherite giving you the most. There are also upgrades that can turn wood boxes into iron chests, iron chests into gold chests, and so on.
Refined Storage By Raoulvdberge
Refined Storage by raoulvdberge is a mod for network storage that lets you change a lot. The mod adds its own storage devices, which can be linked to a router, which is the hub of your network. To run the network, you’ll need an energy mod like Mekanism by Bradyaidanc. However, most energy mods will work with it.
You can make update discs that let you store more things and give you a grid that lets you connect to the network from anywhere you put the grid down.
Ender Storage 1.8+ By Covers1624
Ender Chests are a clever type of vanilla chest that lets you put a certain number of items in one chest and then access them from any other Ender Chest you find in the world. Ender Storage 1.8+ by covers1624 takes that idea and makes it even better.
Color-code your chests so you can get to certain things from certain chests. For example, put all of your cobblestone in a white Ender Chest. Then, put down another white Ender Chest somewhere else and you can get to all of your cobblestone right away. You can also use Ender Liquid Containers instead of carrying around buckets of water or lava. It comes in very handy.
DarkInventory By GamerPotion
You have made a whole new world. Made good headway. Got off to a good start. And… died. And now all of your stuff is gone because you forgot to turn on Keep Inventory on Death. Oops.
GamerPotion’s DarkInventory is a simple but great mod that makes sure you’ll never forget to turn on Keep Inventory. It’s a small thing that makes life easy and keeps you from making the most common mistake, which is not checking your settings before starting a new world.
Inventory Sorting By Kryptonaught
Vanilla Minecraft inventories have no organisation powers. You just look at the squares and cross your fingers. And if you’re lucky, you won’t have to look over what you need five times before you realise you don’t have it.
Or you can get Kryptonaught’s Inventory Inventory Sorting. This will let you assign sorting choices to keys, and there will be a button in the inventory window that lets you sort it automatically. If you don’t want an inventory to be able to be sorted (maybe you have it set up a certain way for a reason), you can block it so that the button won’t show up and keybinds won’t work. Never again will you lose your stuff!
Sophisticated Backpacks By P3pp3rF1y
Backpacks are a dream item for any Minecraft explorer, and Sophisticated Backpacks by P3pp3rF1y is a dream come true. You start by making a simple bag. Then, you add iron, gold, diamonds and obsidian to it to make it bigger.
There are also updates that let you smelt or cook in the bag, pull things in automatically, or funnel things out. You can also change the look of your rucksack by dying it. Enemies often carry bags, and sometimes they’ll drop them with good stuff inside.
